The Agent Terms and Conditions attached are issued on 1st July 2016 and are valid for all bookings and rentals from this date.
Ace Rental Cars reserves the right with notice to update Terms and Conditions at such times where amendments are required.

ACE New Zealand branches are located ‘off airport’ and on the outskirts of city perimeters.
A courtesy shuttle is provided for collection and return from/to airport terminals and/or local accommodation within a branch defined radius of the location.
For Airport Pick Ups:
Once Customers have collected luggage and cleared customs they should call the local free phone or the branch telephone number to arrange collection.
For Accommodation Pick Ups:

After Hours collections are only permitted at the following locations and the below charges will apply.

A minimum of 72hours advanced booking time is required for all out of hour’s reservations.
If customer contact information is not received within 48hours of the reservation being made. ACE rental cars reserve the right to cancel the reservation.
Ace rental cars will not be responsible for any out of hours bookings not met due to no customer information being provided.
All rentals are subject to Ace Car Rental Standard Rental Terms & Conditions which are issued with the customers Rental Agreement. A copy of the Rental Terms and Conditions is available on request.
A Rental Day consists of a consecutive 24 hours.
When returning a vehicle, a grace period of 59 minutes is permitted, after which the customer is liable for an extra days hire at the current applicable daily rate.
No refunds will be given on unused days.

Flight numbers and arrival times are required for all rental reservations with an airport pick up
Rental extensions are permitted and will be charged to the customer/renter direct at the applicable daily rate
All rentals are subject to a bond deposit which covers damage excess and additional costs such as fuel, one way fees and optional extras.
ACE only accept a Credit Card for security on the rental vehicle
Debit cards and Cash are not accepted.
The authorisation will be fully released if vehicle is returned undamaged & with a full tank of petrol. If customers select of the Ace Rental Cars Rental Protection options, ACE will only authorise the applicable bond.

AUTHORISED DRIVER REQUIREMENTS
All Reservations should be made in the name of the Authorised Driver/Main Renter.
MINIMUM DRIVER AGE
Minimum 18 years old. No maximum age limit providing the client is still carrying a valid and full license.
All renters must hold a valid full driving license which must be presented at commencement of hire. Provisional, Restricted and Probationary licenses are not accepted.
If an Overseas licenses is not in English it must be accompanied by an International Drivers Permit (IDP) or/and an approved translation document. This must be presented along with the original license.

ONE WAY FEES
One Way rentals are permitted from on ACE Vehicles.
One Way Fees are dynamically priced dependent on location pickup vehicle availability, demand and movement.
All One Way Fees will be passed back through the XML/API/WEB System Link and included GST
Please ensure all One Way Fees are correctly communicated to the
One Way Fees should be paid direct to the branch on commencement of rental
Ace vehicles are not permitted to be driven on the following roads within New Zealand. Doing so will void any Excess Reduction Policy, if damage occurs due to non-compliance the full bond will be charged.
All Optional Extras must be requested at the time of reservation. Ace Car Rentals cannot guarantee availability of these items if not pre-booked.
All Optional Extras Fees are to be paid locally at time of rental.
All children are required by New Zealand Law to travel in child vehicle restraints up to and including the age of 7 Years or 148cms in height.

It is the renter’s responsibility to ensure that Snow Chains are fitted when required during the winter season (June-October) in Queenstown Lake District and Milford Sound.
Renters must also adhere to all local bylaws.
‘At the discretion of an enforcement officer or an authorized officer, the driver of any vehicle may be required to fit snow chains to such vehicle on any road and no person shall drive, or direct, or allow such vehicle to be driven without snow chains fitted’
The fines for non-compliance are detailed below and the renter will be responsible for paying these direct to the local authorities.

MULTI ISLAND BOOKINGS
ACE vehicles are permitted to be taken on the ferries across The Cook Strait and Standard One Way Fees will apply as outlined in Section 7
All charges for the transportation of vehicles and passengers on either InterIslander or Bluebridge Ferries are the responsibility of the customer/ renter.
If the customer chooses to take the ACE vehicle on the ferry then only one booking needs to be made in the system eg; Auckland – Christchurch.
If the customers wish to leave the car on one island and collect on the other island, two separate bookings for each rental period will have to be made at the applicable daily rental rate. Eg: Auckland – Wellington and Picton – Christchurch

- International and Domestic Airport:When booking, a flight number must be supplied. Customers can make their way to our Dunedin Airport Agency Branch which is located at the Hertz Rental Car booth in the Rental Car area at the Airport.
- Customers can return their vehicles to the Airport. They must park the car in the “Ace” marked parking spaces and will need to drop the keys off at the Hertz Rental Car booth located in the Rental Car area at the Airport.

Terms of booking on this website
The rates on this website are often heavily discounted. This is due to our negotiated rates and bulk buying power. On very rare occasions, a rate may be displayed incorrectly due to our, or a vehicle supplier's error. In such a case, if you book with us at a quoted rate that is incorrect, we will notify you of any price change and give you the option to proceed or cancel. We make every effort to keep information on our site up to date, but we cannot guarantee this website is free of errors or omissions and retain the right to update or change the information published at any time.

We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.
Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice.
If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.
Vehicle capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.
In the event of cancellation, any deposit amounts paid at the time of booking are non-refundable.
If you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the operator of the vehicle.
